Meet the Founders:
Our Team:
Our Mission:
Our mission at JKW Innovations LLC is to revolutionize education and empower children to pursue their passions by providing state-of-the-art hands-on learning experiences that foster creativity, critical thinking, and character development, ultimately preparing them to thrive in both the classroom, and the real world!
Our Vision:
Our vision at JKW Innovations LLC is to be a transformative force in education and in the community, revolutionizing the way children explore and pursue their passions. We envision a future where every child has the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning experiences that ignite their curiosity, nurture their talents, and unleash their full potential. Through our collaborative community, we aim to inspire a generation of innovative thinkers, problem solvers, and creators who are well-prepared to thrive in an ever-evolving world. We strive to be the leading provider of exceptional educational programs, delivering diverse classes, workshops, camps, and tutoring services that foster creativity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love for learning. And, while our courses focus our students on their educational passions and interests, our teachers ensure that character and integrity follow hand-in-hand. We understand the importance of fostering the growth of personal attributes, such as honesty, perseverance, and accountability, within our classes. By doing so, we empower the younger generation to make informed decisions that lead to a fulfilling life.
Policies and Rules:
Cancellations and Transfers: All classes must be paid in full before attendance. Once classes have started, cancellations and refunds are not permitted. However, requests for transfers may be considered. Transfers will be subject to availability and must be completed within the first two weeks of the course.
Prorating: For students joining a class after the 6th week, we offer prorated tuition fees based on the remaining weeks of the course. Additionally, a one-time supplies fee will be added to cover any necessary materials.
Minimum Class Size: A minimum of two students is required to run each class. Exceptions to the minimum class size requirement can be considered upon further discussion between the parent and instructor.
Drop-Off Program: Drop-offs are welcome at no additional cost for students who have back-to-back classes or sessions. Parents or guardians are encouraged to inform the instructors in advance to ensure a smooth transition between classes.
Late Pick-Up: Classes at JKW run in back to back sessions. As such, it is important for parents to pick their students up on time each day. Parents or guardians who arrive late to pick up their child after a class or session will incur an additional fee. We provide a 5-minute grace period for late pick-ups. However, for every minute beyond the grace period, there will be a charge of $2.00 unless informed of an emergency situation.
Suggested Grade Levels: We provide suggested grade levels for our classes to assist with age appropriateness and curriculum alignment. However, exceptions can be made to accommodate siblings or students with varying skill levels.
Student-to-Teacher Ratio: To ensure individualized attention and support, our classes maintain a typical student-to-teacher ratio ranging from 8 to 12 students per instructor. In the event that a program reaches 10 students, we take proactive measures to maintain the quality of instruction. At that point, we assign an assistant to the instructor, ensuring that all students continue to receive the necessary guidance and engagement. This additional support helps us uphold our commitment to personalized education and a high-quality learning experience for every student. We continuously evaluate and adjust our class sizes to strike the right balance between individual attention and group dynamics, allowing each student to thrive academically and creatively.
Parental Observation in Classes: While parents are generally not permitted to remain in the class, we do utilize Google Classroom which enables parents to see what their student is learning on each and every day of instruction. In some cases, exceptions may be granted, allowing parents to sit-in on courses, however there are no guarantees. Please discuss your request with the instructor in advance. We will carefully consider each case to ensure an optimal learning environment for all students.
Grading and Assessment: We provide grades for core classes only. These core classes follow a structured curriculum and assessment system. For all other courses, known as elective classes, we prioritize project-based learning and skill development over traditional grading. It is important to note that parents may choose to provide their own grading system or assessments for these elective classes if they wish. We value parental involvement and encourage open communication regarding the progress and performance of students in all classes.
Tutoring Completion in the Same Year: All tutoring sessions must be completed within the same calendar year they are initiated. This policy ensures that students receive timely support and helps maintain consistency in their learning progress.
Allergies and Snacks: Snacks are welcome, but it is important to maintain a nut-free environment to ensure the safety of all students. Parents or guardians should ensure that snacks brought to the center do not contain nuts or nut products. It is also recommended to label snack’s with the student’s name to avoid confusion.
Student Illness: If a student is feeling unwell or showing symptoms of illness, we kindly request that they do not attend classes to prevent the spread of germs and ensure the well-being of all students. Please notify us as soon as possible if your child will be absent due to illness. We will work with you to find suitable alternatives or reschedule missed sessions.
Student Expected Behavior: At JKW Innovations, our goal is to foster a learning community where everyone teaches, models, and displays respectful, responsible, and safe behaviors. Our teachers understand that every student is unique and we strive to create a personalized learning environment that caters not only to their academic needs, but also fosters a comforting and supportive environment within the classroom. Our teachers set clear expectations for behavior that ensure a classroom where everyone can learn and interact positively. Those expectations are as follows:
Student Conduct Expectations:
Be Respectful.
⧫ We respect everyone's contributions, opinions, and efforts
⧫ We are positive and encouraging to others
⧫ We motivate everyone to do their personal best
⧫ We are friendly to one another
⧫ We help others when we can
⧫ We keep our classroom and supplies clean
⧫ We celebrate each other's successes and are good sports
Be Responsible.
⧫ We hold ourselves and others accountable
⧫ We ask for help when needed
⧫ We use appropriate language
⧫ We complete all assigned work
⧫ We follow all, not some, directions
⧫ We dress, speak, and act appropriately
⧫ We do not cheat or plagiarize
Be Safe.
⧫ We are observant and promote safety
⧫ We keep our hands and feet to ourselves
⧫ We check if other students have allergies before having snacks
⧫ We report any danger to instructors
⧫ We never leave the campus without a parent
⧫ We follow class rules when using the internet and other technology
If a student is having difficulty meeting these expectations and their behavior is consistently disruptive, affecting the learning environment, we will follow our discipline policy.
Discipline Policy: We prioritize the development of core character qualities such as respect, kindness, and integrity in all of our classes. We believe in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students. In the event that a student is not demonstrating these qualities, the following steps will be taken:
Step 1: Verbal Warning - The instructor will give a verbal warning to the student, clearly communicating the expected behavior and consequences should the behavior continue.
Step 2: Written Warning to Parent - If the inappropriate behavior persists, a written warning will be issued to the parent about the student. This warning will outline the specific behaviors that need to be addressed and the potential consequences if they continue.
Step 3: Parent/Guardian Meeting - If the student’s behavior does not improve, a meeting will be scheduled with the student’s parent or guardian. During this meeting, the concerns will be discussed and a plan of action will be agreed upon to address the behavior.
Step 4: Suspension - If the behavior still does not improve, the student may be placed on a temporary probation from classes until the instructor says otherwise.
Termination of Enrollment - In extreme cases where the student’s behavior continues to disrupt the learning environment or poses a safety risk, enrollment may be terminated. Upon termination, the student will no longer be able to participate in JKW programs, and no refund will be provided.
At all levels of disciplinary action, the student’s parent/guardian will be notified of the inappropriate behavior and disciplinary actions that will be implemented.
It's important for parents to be aware of these policies and to discuss them with their children so that everyone understands what is expected of them in terms of appropriate behavior and consequences for misconduct. At JKW, we believe in working together with parents to ensure that all students are held to high standards of behavior. We want to provide you with information on our policies and procedures for addressing student misconduct, while emphasizing our belief that parents have the only say in matters concerning their children. JKW values the partnership between parents in ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Where are your classes currently located?
We will continue to conduct our fall classes at the White Dragon of East County in El Cajon! This location is providing JKW and its students with the space, privacy, and interactivity necessary to create an optimal learning environment.
1. Will you be moving locations?
We are in the process of securing a long term lease that we can alter into a classroom that can provide the learning environment our students deserve. Right now, we are exploring all of our options, including churches, commercial leases, and other martial arts studios. If you or a family member/friend know of any available premises, please reach out and let us know!
2. Do you allow drop-offs?
Yes! We highly suggest using our drop-off service if your student has consecutive classes. You can drop them off, or choose to stay!
3. Can siblings take classes together, despite the specified grade range on courses?
Yes! Depending on how complicated the course is, we welcome siblings to enroll in the same classes. Contact us for further information on how to proceed!
4. What is the non-refundable $25 deposit?
The deposit is required to reserve your child's spot in JKW classes. It is only non-refundable if you withdraw from the class. If you are paying out-of-pocket, the $25 deposit will be deducted from the total balance of the class. If you are paying through charter funds, you will receive a refund once we have received full payment for the class.
5. Do you offer a military discount?
We are proud to offer a 5% military discount at JKW. This discount is available to active duty military personnel and veterans upon presentation of valid military identification or proof of service.

Monday classes are typically structured as 15-week semester-long courses, Tuesday - Thursday classes are typically structured as 16-week semester-long courses. The majority of our classes have a duration of 55 minutes per session. However, please refer to the course descriptions for specific information regarding the duration of each class, as some classes or camps may have different durations based on their unique requirements.
Core classes meet twice a week.
7. Is it possible to enroll in a class during the spring semester, even if the course began in the fall and spans the entire year?
Yes, new material is covered each semester.
8. Can I observe my child's class?
We encourage parents to assist their children in getting acquainted with the drop-off process on the first day of class. While parents are generally not allowed to remain in the class, we provide a comfortable reception area where parents are welcome to sit and wait. Exceptions to this rule may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
9. Is there a space for kids to eat lunch? What is your policy for food on site concerning children with food allergies?
We recognize the importance of food allergies and take the necessary precautions to ensure a safe environment for all our students. Prior to the start of classes, we collect detailed information about any food allergies that students may have. It is our strict policy not to allow nuts in our facility, mitigating the risk for students with nut allergies.
We understand that snacking during class can be necessary, especially for the younger students too. Therefore, we allow students to have snacks during class as long as it does not become a distraction to their learning and provided that no students have allergies to the particular snack being consumed. Additionally, for students who are attending classes for a full day, we set up a table where they can enjoy their meals during their lunch break.
10. Can we see/tour your facility prior to registration?
We would be happy to offer you a tour of our current facility! Please let us know your preferred date and time, and we will make the necessary arrangements.
11. My charter starts 1 week after your classes start. Will my child have to miss the first week?
For families whose children attend charter schools with a start date after our semester begins, we have implemented an honor system. Parents are still welcome to have their children attend classes during the first week by placing the required deposit and assuring us that the necessary certificate will be sent promptly.
12. How do I know which classes are filled?
We typically cap our classes at 15 students. If a class is filled, we will explicitly convey it on our website and create a waiting list for parents.
